Am Freitag erupted a fire in Alvaneu Dorf, damaging a waste disposal container meant for garden waste. The incident, reported at 11:30 AM, prompted a swift response from the Feuerwehr Albula, which dispatched 22 firefighters to combat the flames. Unfortunately, the damage has been estimated at over 5,000 Swiss francs.
Preliminary investigations by the Kantonspolizei Graubünden suggest that the blaze was ignited due to improper disposal of ash and charcoal in the container. Authorities are calling for witnesses who can provide information about the incident to get in touch with the Polizeistützpunkt Lenzerheide-Albula in Tiefencastel at 081 257 77 70.
