In Valle Leventina, tragedy struck late on February 22, 2026, when a devastating road accident claimed the life of a 38-year-old Swiss driver. The incident occurred shortly after 10 PM in Chironico, at the Lavorgo Sud rest area, where the driver, who resided in Luganese, collided with the rear of a stationary heavy vehicle.
