In Avenches, two suspects have been identified following a spree of property damage that occurred between December 3 and 4, 2024. The Vaud cantonal police have apprehended a 16-year-old minor and a 22-year-old adult, both Swiss nationals, after extensive investigations by the Payerne gendarmerie.
The vandalism spree resulted in significant damage to 16 vehicles and 4 electric bicycles, with reports of broken mirrors, smashed windows, deflated tires, and graffiti. Additionally, two buildings were vandalized, and public furniture was damaged during this chaotic night, leading to a total of 23 complaints filed. The total cost of the damages is still under evaluation, and a legal proceeding has been initiated by the juvenile court and the public prosecutor’s office.
