Verkehrschaos in Genf: Massive Bauarbeiten ab August 2025 angekündigt!

In Geneva, significant traffic disruptions are set to begin due to various construction projects impacting local routes starting in August 2025. Notably, from the night of August 17-18, the stretch of Avenue de France between Rue de Montbrillant and Voie-Creuse will be closed to traffic towards the lake, with alternate routes mandated for drivers. This closure will last for about 18 months, prohibiting left turns from Avenue de France onto Montbrillant and right turns from Rue de Montbrillant onto Avenue de France. Major adjustments to public transport lines, particularly tram line 15, will also occur during this period, with the terminus moving to a new stop renamed „Nations.“

Additionally, from August 11, 2025, parking spaces along Rue Maurice-Braillard will be eliminated for approximately four months, while right turns onto Rue de Moillebeau will intermittently be restricted. Night work is scheduled on Route de Chancy from the same date for two weeks to upgrade traffic signal systems, and alternating traffic will be implemented on Route de Jussy for six weeks beginning August 11. Lastly, weekend road closures will be in place on Route du Pont-Butin for maintenance work on August 9-10 and August 16-17, contributing to reduced traffic flow in various areas. Drivers and commuters are urged to plan accordingly to navigate these extensive disruptions.
